      Diagnostic Testing Case Review

      Diagnostic Testing for Individualized Treatment

The way that Brandy works with patients is designed to save money and time in the long-term by performing the appropriate diagnostic testing and evaluation before treatment begins. There are 2 phases to her treatment approach. The first is The Case Review Process and second in Ongoing Followup Treatment.

Using the Functional Medicine model taught by the field's leading experts, Brandy's Case Review process cornerstone is “test, don’t guess.” Identifying the underlying patterns contributing to disease is the key to a successful and lasting outcome.

      The Case Review Process includes:

      • An initial phone consult to determine which labs to order
      • A thorough review of your medical history and relevant previous lab work.
      • A review of your current diet and nutritional supplements.
      • A detailed body systems assessment.
      • A 75-minute in-person consultation to review your results and present your treatment plan.
      • A treatment plan including diet, supplements and lifestyle therapies.
      • Recommendations for further testing (if necessary).

Below the Case Review Process is detailed.

       The Case Review - Step 1 ($250)

Step 1 is an initial interview usually 30-45 minutes via phone/Facetime/Skype. In this interview Brandy will review your chief complaint and history to determine which tests will be appropriate for you. This visit will ensure that she has detailed information regarding your health concerns, goals, and factors that may be contributing to your current situation. She will also give you a 30-day RESET during this visit to kick start your treatment.

Lab testing ordered will vary according to individual circumstances but are likely to include:

      • A comprehensive blood chemistry panel.  It screens for a wide range of conditions, including several types of anemia; gut, viral and bacterial infections; insulin resistance and hypoglycemia; liver and kidney issues; and thyroid and adrenal problems. It offers important clues for how to structure and focus your treatment to get the best results. And it provides a baseline of biomarkers that can be used to objectively track the progress of your treatment over time.
      • Additional blood tests for specific conditions, such as high cholesterol, hypothyroidism, autoimmune disease, and gluten sensitivity.
      • Advanced stool testing to screen for parasites, fungal overgrowth, bacterial infections, intestinal inflammation, dysbiosis and a deficiency of beneficial gut bacteria.
      • Urine organic acids testing to screen for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, fungal overgrowth, problems metabolizing fat or carbohydrate, B-vitamin status, methylation issues, detoxification capacity, oxidative stress, and neurotransmitter metabolism.
      • Urine hormone testing for adrenal and sex hormone status.

Lab fees vary based on tests ordered and complexity of the case. Typical fees range $550 - 1,200 although may be more if more detailed testing needed.

After the initial interview, a Patient Care Specialist will provide you with detailed history forms and questionnaires. These forms are lengthy and will require time and energy to complete. This step is very important as they will be used along with lab testing for Brandy to provide the most elaborate evaluation of your health status as possible.   Once lab results are in and paperwork has been completed, step 2 of the Case Review will be scheduled.

      The Case Review - Step 2 ($250)

Step 2 is a Case Review conference which is an in-person 75 minute visit. Prior to this visit, Brandy will review the health history paperwork and detailed questionnaires long with all the lab findings. A detailed Report of Findings will be generated. This report along with each individual lab results and the results of your 30-day RESET will be reviewed. The Report of Findings will provide your treatment plan and recommendations for further testing. You will be given access on an on-line patient portal which will hold all the test results and treatment recommendations. Treatment protocols will include supplements, dietary recommendations, and other lifestyle modifications. If you chose, you may purchase your supplements from our patient portal.

      Follow Up Treatment Visits

Once the Case Review is complete, you’ll have follow-up appointments on an as-needed basis throughout the remainder of your treatment plan.

The first follow-up appointment generally occurs between six and ten weeks after your Case Review Consultation. At that time, Brandy will review your progress on the treatment plan, along with any follow-up test results, and make additional recommendations as necessary.

From there, the frequency of your follow-up appointments will depend upon the severity of your condition as well as your response to the treatment.

You may schedule follow-up appointments via phone/FaceTime/Skype. You may schedule a 30 min, 45 min, or 60 min visit.

Fees for Follow Up Visits are as follows:

      • 30 minute - $75
      • 45 minute - $90
      • 60 min - $120
